The title track "You And Me", as with several of the songs on the album, reunites Wilson with longtime collaborator Sue Ennis, who co-wrote many of HEART's classics with Nancy and sister Ann.īLABBERMOUTH.NET uses the Facebook Comments plugin to let people comment on content on the site using their Facebook account. Titled "4 Edward", it is Nancy's tribute to Eddie Van Halen, whose 2020 loss still looms large over music. The album ends with a song that captures the full spectrum of loss, love and redemption in one instrumental coda. The other eight tracks are originals, mostly acoustic ballads, but there are also some rousing rockers like "Party At The Angel Ballroom" which features a superstar backing band, including Duff McKagan of GUNS N' ROSES and Taylor Hawkins of the FOO FIGHTERS. Most of the tracks are originals, but Wilson decided to include a handful of covers by a few of her favorites, including a female perspective of PEARL JAM's "Daughter", a stirring turn of SIMON & GARFUNKEL's "The Boxer" featuring Sammy Hagar, and an ethereal cover of THE CRANBERRIES' "Dreams", featuring Warfield. The LP was recorded primarily in Wilson's California home studio, working with band members and special guests remotely. "You And Me" will be released on May 7 via Carry On Music. So I just figured out how to finish it on my own, and it finally found its home." I think he just didn't wanna be part of it because it was too painful for him - 'cause Layne was his brother mainly. This song needs another part.' And I played it for him a couple of different times in a few different situations. "I shared it with Jerry Cantrell, who's a great friend of mine, and I said, 'I still wanna finish the song. So that's why I wrote the song at the time when he was still around I wrote it then."Īccording to Nancy, Layne never got a chance to hear the song before his passing. And it took a long, long time, but it was really obvious that he was not going to win that contest. And Layne Staley was one sweetheart of a person who you could really see his weakness for his addiction and how much it appeared, from a distance, that he was not gonna survive it. Even Chris Cornell later, as it turned out, he had his own issues later on. It was a very interesting situation in the early '90s in Seattle, because there were a lot of those guys around that time which were all battling with their own addictions. It's finally in a good home that song found its home."Īsked if she saw Layne's death coming before he succumbed to addiction in 2002, Nancy said: "Yeah. I said, 'I'm happy to do that song on my solo album too.' It's just a song that finally found its place to live. And the guy from the record company at the time, when I was doing this new album, he said, 'Would you please put 'The Dragon' on this album?' because he loved the version that we did with ROADCASE ROYALE. And it was really a great song, and I thought it finally found a good home on that album. The album was called 'First Things First'. So later when I was on hiatus from HEART for a couple of years and I made my other band called ROADCASE ROYALE, we were recording an album and we put 'The Dragon' on that album. It was a song that never really worked inside of the HEART format - it just didn't live as a HEART song it just didn't really work for HEART for some unknown reason. She told Holland's FaceCulture about the track (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I wrote that song so long ago, in the early '90s, when I was friends - I still am friends - with ALICE IN CHAINS guys and all the Seattle explosion, all of my buddies in Seattle. "You And Me", the debut solo album from HEART's Nancy Wilson, includes the song "The Dragon", which was originally written for ALICE IN CHAINS' Layne Staley nearly three decades ago. It would be followed up by The Legend of Heroes IV (1996) and The Legend of Heroes V (1999), later known outside of Japan as respectively The Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion and The Legend of Heroes III: Song of the Ocean. The third game in the series, The Legend of Heroes III (1994), later released in English as The Legend of Heroes II: Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch, dropped "Dragon Slayer" from the title. In Japan however, the series continued with Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes II, released in 1992 for a similar selection of platforms. The latter would be the first and last game in the series released in English until 2005. It was released for various computer platforms, as well as consoles such as the Sega Genesis, Super NES, and the TurboGrafx-16. It began with the release of Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes in 1989 as a part of Dragon Slayer franchise. The most recent entry, The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II – Crimson Sin, was released in 2022. All games in the franchise released since 2004 are part of the Trails subseries, known as Kiseki in Japan. First starting as a part of the Dragon Slayer series in the late 1980s, the series evolved into its own decade-spanning, interconnected series with seventeen entries, including several subseries. On the surface, it’s a cozy management game, where familiar mechanics like farming and crafting certainly play a role - and customizing your ship adds a dash of fun. In short, you’re a “spiritfarer ” - but it’s much less an occupation and much more, a journey. Acclaimed developer Thunder Lotus masterfully plops the player into the shoes (and floppy hat) of Stella, a plucky, newly ordained ferrymaster for the deceased. That's because Spiritfarer is a great game and I can whole-heartedly recommend it to everyone.Spiritfarer is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that dares to explore themes and relationships rarely contemplated in video games. So, as you can already see, all of my complaints are pretty nit-picky. Also I have to be honest and say that while I respect and appreciate the somber atmosphere of the last few minutes of the game, I expected a little more from the finale. Like, Y is back? Really? And the bouncing move is suuuuper finicky. The controls in general also seem a little unintuitive, I have to say. Also, the screen zooming out because you found a crate is not helpful at all when you're currently in the carpentry cutting wood or having a deep emotional conversation with a spirit. Speaking of which, setting a new destination should be a thing that is possible from anywhere on the boat because walking all the way back to the left every time is super annoying. A much better way would be if the boat just kept going and if you want to do the event, you either make sure to get to the character in time, or you just put down the event location as your destination on the map. Also, the game could use a few QoL improvements: For example, every time you sail through an event area, you boat grinds to a halt and you have to go to the right character/house and say whether or not you want to do the event. In general, the deep story aspects can get a bit bogged down by the grinding and fetch quests at times. I would've liked for there to be a little more backstory to each of the spirits. Luckily, I didn't lose too much progress every time because of autosaves. Unfortunately, he game crashed more than any other game I have ever played on the Switch (probably 7 or 8 times). Simplest form of proxy anonymization: proxy services Now, of course, the question arises as to why proxies are still relevant for this type of anonymization. With VPN and Tor, there are much more elegant solutions. The answer is simple: Tor anonymizes initially only within the Tor browser, a diversion of the entire Internet traffic on the so-called Onion network is technically complex and, above all, slow. VPN services are better placed here: they anonymize all network traffic and are much faster. However, they are also liable to pay and the VPN user knows the personal data of his users, which he must pass in the worst case to investigative authorities. This is exactly where proxy servers come into play: The setup is simple, the anonymization effect is great – and the servers are mostly free. Of course, the provider proxy is a very bad choice when it comes to anonymization, since the provider probably book on who has called what when. That’s why provider proxies are no longer relevant in times of fast Internet connections, even though they are still in use in many cases. In terms of anonymization, free proxy servers are more interesting, which are best located abroad: This redirection makes it difficult to investigate, and also knows such a free proxy, at best, the IP address of his user and nothing else. As a result, it can serve as an anonymization solution: the foreign server retrieves the data for the user, the user remains one of many behind the proxy anonymous. The problem is that free proxy servers are extremely hard to find. Proxy servers are the oldest method of making Internet traffic much more anonymous. Internet veterans will remember that in the analog modem age, proxy servers had to be set up by default. These were proxy proxies, which served one purpose above all else: significantly speeding up the then lame Internet traffic by caching data from websites. Therefore also the name “proxy” of Latin “ Proximus“: The near lying. At the time when was called, the proxy server first looked to see if it had not already saved the page or the download – and then delivered the content much faster to the PC with reduced loading times and signal paths. If the page was not saved, the proxy called the page for delivery. Positive side effect: The controlled web server could not see the IP address of the requesting computer, but only the proxy server. The result is anonymization. Proxies work this way today.Īnonymization effect only for free proxies Bottom line: Proxies are handy, but hard to findĪlso Read : The Best free antivirus of 2019 List of the Bestīut IP addresses also have two other disadvantages: Since the Internet is a huge network, an attacker can use the IP address to specifically attack the router or the PCs behind it. This is technically complicated, but by no means impossible. And so-called geo-blocking capabilities prevent certain websites and content from being accessed. An anonymization of the IP address can also help here. As a rule, there are three options: the free Tor browser , a paid VPN or just a proxy server. All three technologies have in common that they redirect traffic over other servers, obscuring the IP address of the user.Proxy settings are available in every tool and system.Simplest form of proxy anonymization: proxy services.Anonymization effect only for free proxies.
